Erasmus days at Costa de Beauregard School
For five days, last October, our school welcomed 5 professional horticulturists -vegetable and flower producers- from Ireland, Italy and Spain to celebrate the Erasmus European Exchanges.
They shared their experience with our youngest pupils and they also introduced their countries and their various cultures.
With the pupils learning horticulture, they presented their firms and explained their specific methods of culture.
With students and staff, the professionals encouraged mobilities and trainings abroad. For instance, they participated in a panel discussion with former Erasmus participants about the impacts of these mobilities on students, teachers and training supervisors. All agreed that welcoming a trainee in their company is an enriching experience both for the firm and the whole staff.
We shared breakfast together to end the week.
It was also an opportunity for the foreign professionals to visit firms and discover agriculture in Savoie.
In short, it is a very good way to open minds and to … improve foreign languages !
